Korea medical tourism: how to choose a specialist and prepare your consultation

This guide gives general information for international patients considering care in Korea. It explains how to approach specialist selection, what to prepare before a consultation, and how costs and travel arrangements are confirmed.

About MEDILIKE's role

MEDILIKE is not a medical institution and does not provide treatment. MEDILIKE is a coordinator that helps international patients choose specialists, arrange consultations and prepare their visit to Korea. Individual suitability and all treatment decisions are made through consultation with the treating medical team.

Frequently asked questions

How do I start medical tourism in Korea?

Begin with the area you are interested in, your preferred consultation language, the dates you could travel and a basic contact. A coordinator can then suggest suitable specialists and arrange a consultation. Decide on travel only after the consultation clarifies your options.

How should I choose a specialist?

Look at specialty fit for your concern, available information about the doctor's experience, how communication and interpretation will work, and what follow-up after your visit includes.

For surgical referrals, MEDILIKE's own selection policy is to look for specialists with experience of at least 5,000 cases in the relevant field. This is a company policy, not a confirmation that any particular doctor meets it; ask the clinic to explain experience directly during consultation.

What should I prepare before a breast augmentation or revision rhinoplasty consultation?

Prepare your goals in your own words, previous surgery records and dates (especially for revision rhinoplasty), current photos if requested, medications, allergies and health conditions, and your questions about risks, recovery time and follow-up. The surgeon decides whether and how surgery is appropriate after examining you.

How are medical fees and interpretation, transport and accommodation costs confirmed?

Medical fees are set by the clinic and are confirmed after consultation. Coordination and optional travel support such as interpretation, airport transport or accommodation are scoped to your request and quoted separately before you confirm. Ask for medical and non-medical costs to be itemized.

What should I send before visiting Korea?

For a first inquiry, your area of interest, preferred consultation language, possible dates and a basic contact are enough. Please do not include medical history, medications, test results or previous records in the first inquiry. If the medical team needs records to assess your case, the coordinator or clinic will tell you which records are needed and how to send them.

How do I contact MEDILIKE?

Use the official consultation form on the MEDILIKE website, or email care@kmedilike.com. A coordinator will reply about next steps. Submitting an inquiry does not commit you to treatment.
